Zheduo Mountain Clouds in the rising sun

On the morning of Dec. 16, the sun slowly rose from the sea of clouds in Zheduo Mountain, Kangding, Sichuan province. Gradually, the sea of clouds and mountain peaks glistened, and the light from the dazzling sunrise became more and more beautiful. That’s the great beauty of nature.

It is understood that Zheduo Mountain, first pass of the Kham area, is situated in Kangding city, Garze prefecture, Sichuan province, and is at an elevation of 4,270 meters. Zheduo Mountain is also an important geographic boundary that is surrounded by rising strips of lands on all of its sides, where the Yalong River runs through; situated on the right of it are mountains and valleys, where the Dadu River runs through. Dadu River Valley is a transitional area in the forms of China’s nationalities, cultures, and other aspects, where “Jiarong People” (the Tibetan branch) reside. The area stretches northwards to the Daxiao Jinchuan area located in Aba prefecture, Sichuan province. Situated to the east of Zheduo Mountain are mountainous areas, but situated to the west of the mountain is the eastern part of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. “Zheduo” means bending in Tibetan, and is written as “折多” in Chinese.

When traveling to this area, tourists from all over the world can have a profound experience of the plateau views of Garze in the west of Sichuan.
